RACE RULES
The Organizer may review and update the General Terms and Conditions of Sale and the regulations at any time. Please check them regularly.
General Information
The MARATHON BIERE FLANDRE FESTIVAL MB2F is organized by the association Environnement Sport Nature in Meteren. Three routes are scheduled with the following distances:

13 km route – LE BALLON

21 km route – LE DEMI
-
42 km route – LA PINTE
The routes partially use small public roads and pass through villages.
Participant age requirements:

13 km: minimum 16 years old (alcohol consumption prohibited)

21 km: minimum 18 years old
-
42 km: minimum 20 years old
FFA 2025 / 2026 Age Categories
Age categories change from September 1 each year.
Runners are not allowed to run with a dog or any animal, even if leashed.
All runners must sign their registration form. Participation in the event is entirely at the runner’s own risk, with a waiver of any claims against the organizers for any damage suffered or caused. Competitors explicitly waive the right to make claims against the organizers. Competitors agree not to pursue any legal action against the organizers for any incident resulting from their participation in the event.
No registration will be possible on race day.
Cycling escorts are not allowed.
Runners are required to use reusable containers (eco cup, hydration pack, bottles, etc.) at refreshment points. No disposable cups will be provided.
Volunteers or marshals have the authority to disqualify participants for non-compliance with regulations (littering, cheating, cutting the course, insults, or inappropriate behavior).
Respect for Nature
Competitors may not receive any personal assistance along the course (except at refreshment points). Any withdrawal must be reported to the nearest checkpoint official, and the bib must be handed over to them.
Competitors are expected to provide mutual aid and assistance.
Intermediate Checkpoints
Use of trekking poles is prohibited.
No waste should be discarded under penalty of disqualification.
Any problem or accident must be immediately reported to the nearest checkpoint.
Any competitor failing to respect minimum environmental standards may be disqualified.
Restrooms in nearby buildings at the start area will be available to competitors.
BEFORE THE RACE
BIB COLLECTION
For flow management, all bibs for the 13, 21, and 42 km routes will be distributed on Friday, September 25, and Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at St Winoc Abbey in Bergues (arrival site) during the Beer Festival.
No bibs will be distributed on race day.
Please update your medical certificate or declaration online (see new FFA 2024 regulations).
No medical certificates will be accepted at bib collection.
Fees and Cancellation

In case of race cancellation due to “force majeure” or official decision, 50% of fees remain with the organizers.
After 01/09/2026, 100% of fees remain with the organizers.
Registrations
FFA License or PPS:
FFA License: Athlé Competition, Athlé Enterprise, Athlé Running, or “I love running” pass valid on the event date.
For adults without an FFA license: PPS (Health Prevention Path). Athletes must provide a paper, electronic, or QR code certificate showing completion of the PPS set up by the FFA (valid 3 months).
For minors: the athlete and legal guardians must jointly complete a health questionnaire as specified by the relevant ministerial decree. If any answer is not negative, a medical certificate confirming no contraindication for sport, less than six months old, must be provided.
Foreign athletes, even licensed with an IAAF-affiliated federation, must provide PPS documentation.
The organizer is not responsible for verifying the authenticity of submitted documents. No registration will be accepted without proof of valid FFA medical declaration or license.
Refunds:
All registrations are personal, final, and non-refundable.
Cancellation Option
During registration, participants may choose a €12 “cancellation option” covering refunds (minus €3 processing fee, transaction fees, and cancellation guarantee) only for medical reasons.
A medical certificate must justify inability to participate.

Handisport
Participants with disabilities may join MB2F. Joëlette participants will start at the end of the pack; the runner’s bib is free, companions pay.

Timing and Checkpoints
Electronic chips will be used for results. Checkpoints will be placed along the course.
Bibs must be worn on chest or stomach, visible at all times, above all clothing, and cannot be attached to a bag. Partner logos must not be altered or hidden.
No bib exchange is allowed. Any accident caused by unauthorized bib use is the user’s responsibility.
Refreshments

13 km: 2 refreshment points – 4 beer tastings

21 km: 5 refreshment points – 7 beer tastings

42 km: 9 refreshment points – 15 beer tastings
Water, energy bars, fruits, and dry cakes will be available. Beer tastings are for adults only, in moderation.
Mobile toilets will be provided near start, finish, and major refreshment points.
No littering outside refreshment areas.
Rankings and Awards
Individual rankings include: place, bib number, license number, name, first name, club, department, birth year, category, and time. Scratch and category rankings follow the same criteria. Results are on the website.
Podium awards: scratch rankings.
Briefing
15 minutes before each race, a briefing will take place at the start site. It will cover instructions and key regulations.
Parking and Site Security
City parking will be available (Leclerc parking). Participants must walk to the event site. Bergues will be closed to traffic. Signage will guide participants.
No vehicles allowed in start/finish zones. Authorized controllers will monitor.
Accommodations
Participants book individually. A list is available on the MB2F website.
Medical Assistance
Managed by the Civil Protection. Emergency numbers will be on the bib.
Emergency Procedure
Witnesses must notify the chief medic, who will organize rescue.
Runners must assist others in danger. Medical staff can remove unfit competitors or hospitalize them. Any evacuation costs are borne by the runner.
Insurance
Civil liability insurance covers organizers and participants. License holders have coverage; others must insure themselves.
Anti-Doping
Participants must comply with anti-doping laws and regulations (Articles L.230-1 and following of the Sports Code).
Road Safety – Marshals
Marshals will be positioned at dangerous intersections. No cycling escorts allowed.
Environment
Runners must respect natural and private areas. Use reusable cups; littering results in disqualification.
Image Rights
Participants authorize the organizers to use images or videos of them for promotional purposes. They may request data access or correction per French law (06/01/78).
Photography
Official photographer: Photorunning. Photos are only shared with buyers. Data is used solely for authentication and service purposes.
Regional Charter on Secularism and Republican Values
The Hauts-de-France Region promotes secularism, equality, and republican values. Associations are encouraged to reinforce and respect these principles.
Acceptance of Rules
Participants declare they have read and accept the regulations and ethical charter. Any violation may result in exclusion.
